Spilling the tea…

My very first online course purchase and what it taught me & why I’ll NEVER make a program like it! 5 years ago, I was desperate to help my horse. I always thought Equine massage would benefit him, so  I googled “equine massage course” and found one. It was around $1,300, which was a big investment for me at the time. I knew he was worth it and was desperate to help him, so I pulled the trigger. I was disappointed that the course barely taught me any massage techniques

It taught a lot about equine health, but I actually already knew most of the material because of my pony club education (actually, I wondered if the course material was taken straight out of pony club text books). I spent hours and hours going through this course, bored out of my mind, only to get to the end and realize I learned next to nothing that could help my horse. I actually felt like I had taken a step back in helping him, because if anything I had LESS confidence in my ability to learn massage.

My takeaways

  • It is important to get a feel for someone before investing in their course or materials. Watch how they teach-

  • Does it make sense to you?

  • Do they break everything down into manageable, bite sized chunks?

  • Are they teaching you things you’re actually interested in, and can use?

  • Are they giving you actionable steps to take?

Moreover,

  • What are their students/ clients saying? Are they seeing results? Were they happy with their purchase?

I was so excited to get started on my journey to becoming an equine massage therapist, and to help my horse in the process.

HOWEVER

I wish I had taken that first step with the RIGHT course! Since I took that course, I got the idea to help horse owners become their horse’s personal massage therapist. When I created it, I vowed that no one who invested in it would experience what I did 5 years ago. I made a course that shocks people with how much value they get for the cost. That teaches over X massage techniques and X stretches that horse owners can use EVERY DAY. and I break it all down in such a way that anyone, beginner or professional, can manage it.

How do you invest your time and money into yourself and your horse?
